Day 142 – Ettumanoor Temple
Posted on | May 22, 2010 | 6 Comments |

Ettumanoor, the town I am from, is famous for its Shiva temple. The annual festival of the Ettumanoor Mahadeva temple called Aarattu, is celebrated in the month of February, but this year the famous golden flag pole in the temple was reinstalled and they are celebrating the aarattu all over again for the second time in May. The festival lasts 10 days, today was the 4th day. We used to look forward to the aarattu when we were kids, for all the makeshift stalls the vendors put up in front of the temple, where we could buy all kinds of trinkets and enjoy many different varieties of street food. We drove by there tonight for old time sake, it was pretty late at night and the place was almost empty. The temple looked majestic with all the lightings, pictured is the gateway to the temple where the wedding ceremonies normally take place.

Yeah, I’ve heard of Ettumanoor and I think I know there’s a temple there, didn’t know for whom. This is really colourful!

I love the vibe and the ambience of old temples back home. The new ones just don’t seem to have IT.

I have to show some thanks to this writer just for bailing me out of this particular scenario. After searching throughout the online world and meeting views which are not beneficial, I was thinking my entire life was well over. Being alive without the answers to the issues you’ve resolved by means of your report is a crucial case, as well as ones that would have in a negative way affected my career if I had not come across the website. Your own personal know-how and kindness in handling the whole lot was crucial. I don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t discovered such a solution like this. I can at this time look forward to my future. Thanks so much for the specialized and results-oriented guide. I won’t be reluctant to suggest your site to anybody who needs assistance on this subject matter.
