Breakfast/Brunch, Modern American, Northwest, West Seattle »

We haven’t really explored the West Seattle restaurant scene much, I am not sure why though. It is not that long a drive from Belltown, but somehow we never think about this neighborhood while trying to pick a place for dinner. Spring Hill has been on my radar for a while, but I keep forgetting about it when it comes to decision time. But last month on my birthday Siv made reservations there after reading some great reviews about the place and wow, I am really glad he did.
The first …

I went through a phase of blogging boredom where the frequency of posting suffered a lot. The restaurant review category especially was outright ignored during this phase. As the year is coming to an end, I’ve been doing some housecleaning of the drafts and restaurant pictures and found many many food pictures waiting for a write up. I have accumulated quite a collection over the past few months, so it was no surprise that I couldn’t remember half of those dishes or in some cases even which restaurant we had …

Mango Coconut Panna Cotta and Cafe Campagne

Finally it is summer in Seattle! I don’t think anyone else enjoys summer as much as us Seattleites. We have learned to fully appreciate the few sunny days we get every year. The streets are so lively these days, it is so much fun to go out into the city and get lost in the crowd. A friend and I had a fabulous Parisian style Sunday today. We started with brunch at Cafe Campagne, followed by a waterfront stroll and a few hours of shopping and finished with a late …

There are so many things I love about living in Belltown. Being so close to Macrina Bakery is way up there in this list. This European style bakery and cafe is the place where Seattlites bring their out-of-town visitors to.They have the best breads in town, and the pastries are to die for! Macrina supplies bread to a bunch of restaurants in town, but there is nothing better than buying freshly made bread and pastries directly from source!
Macrina is not just a friendly neighborhood bakery, they have one of the best breakfast/brunch menus …

I’ve been contemplating for a couple of days whether to post a review about our Easter Sunday brunch at Etta’s Seafood or not. I’ve been writing reviews only if the food or the experience is really good or really bad. Etta’s is somewhere in the middle, not much to complain about, but nothing to write home about either! I know it is a Seattle favorite, but I’ve been thinking lately that it might just be the hype -Tom Douglas owns the place, so it must be good, right?
Well, don’t get me wrong, food …

Last weekend Siva and I had to get up early for a 11 o’ clock appointment (yeah, that is early for us on a weekend ). But the person we were supposed to meet canceled at the last minute. Since we got all dressed up to go out anyway, and since Siva was in a great mood, we decided to go out for brunch, even though there was a playoff game going on.. We don’t do anything together on weekends during NFL season when a game is on… I wanted …
