Eating out is always associated with a little bit of guilt; that the money we waste on food could feed a small village in some countries. But here is a way to make a slight difference - dine out on Thursday, April 26th at a participating restaurant, a portion of your bill will go to support the fight against AIDS.
Check out the list of participating restaurants in Seattle. There are a lot of restaurants in this list, so pick your favorite and grab breakfast, lunch or dinner at one of these places.

Good idea for a good cause Sig.Instead of eating, why shouldn’t we just donate 100% of money to that charity? It’s better I think.
Our charities are St.Jude childrens hosp and DAV for veterans.
This is such a great idea, thank you for letting us know about it. I hadn’t heard and I do feel guilty about eating out, but not any more! (At least not on March 26th, lol.)

Hi Asha, of course I am not advocating that we dine out instead of donating that money to charity. This is in addition to the money you’d give to charity every year. If you dine out on a regular basis anyway, why not go to a participating restaurant that day so that some of the money you would have anyway spent will go to a good cause. That’s all I meant. :).
Those two are great charities, our charities are CRY and Udavum Karangal, both are for kids in India and are part of our employee matching program. We feel like our money goes a long way in India compared to here.
Hi Ari,Good to hear that.
BTW, the date is April 26th, not March 26th :).Thanks to my friend Richa who pointed out my stupid mistake.
Great idea, Sig.Besides donating to the charities, if ones goes to dine out at such places it would be lil’ bit guilt free dine out
Sig, At least one day of guilt free restaurant dinner
Hi Sig, that’s a novel idea…happy guilt-free dining…
btw, I did leave a comment earlier, in fact was the first one…

Hey Musie and Reenie, yep, anything to take a little bit guilt away right
Sunita, sorry ur comment got eaten, blogger has been acting weird. I am getting the comment notification emails after a while for the past two days, and sometimes never at all. The comment moderation page didnt have ur comment either… :(.
Hugs to you for promoting this here! Was just watching the American Idol live as they were asking people to donate for HIV affected kids in Africa, the promo videos were just too touching!
Hey Nandita, long time… :).. Good to hear from you.
I know, the AI videos were too sad and touching.
Thanks for this note, Sig! D and I rarely eat out as it is quite expensive (and as you pointed out, the money we spend can feed a village elsewhere)… but, true, if there is a way to do what we work hard to do, and enjoy doing, and still manage to give back, it is great!
Thanks to author! I like articles like this, very interesting.
nice blog!
